Below is the information for the Box Dinner.

Note: These are two different restaurants.

Please contact either if you have questions.

***********************************

We have made arrangements with a local restaurant in Burnet to offer box dinners for the return portion of the train ride.

By choosing to purchase  a box dinner you will have more time to shop and visit the Streets of Bethlehem event. We will have about 2 hours maximum in Burnet. They do offer sit down service but you might not get to browse and shop as much if you spend your time in the restaurant. Either way they have delicious food.

If your chapter would like to have a sit down meal please notify them as they did run out of food last year! There will be other public riders on the train and the local townsfolk will be shopping and dining too!

The Tea-Licious Tea Room has provided the menu. Click the link below for the menu.

You can call their special arranged phone number to place your order.

They will handle the payments and provide each person with a ticket for their specified order.

They will mail you the ticket that you will  then present to them at the train depot, before boarding the train for the return trip.  They will have all the boxed dinners waiting for us as we board the train.

Your ticket must be prepaid and ordered by December 1st.  They will not be able to take last minute orders as that will be a very busy weekend for all involved.

There are other street vendors that will be serving foods in the town square - turkey legs, bbq sandwiches, hot dogs etc.

The Red Hat Ageless Divas will provide bottled water all during the trip to and from Burnet.  If you desire a soda etc. you can purchase something from the street vendors and bring it back on the train with you too.  You may also bring sodas etc with you for the entire train ride but the train does NOT allow any alcohol to be brought aboard. Also the Austin Steam Train Association does have a concession car that sells snacks and drinks.

Once again, we want to invite our fellow Austin metro-area Red Hat Society chapters to a trip in December on the Austin Steam Train, Hill Country Flyer. Last year, a group of about 70 Red Hatters from around the Austin-metro area rode the train to Burnet, Texas. During th
